Rights advocate

Maria Fernanda is a passionate advocate for the rights of women and girls and for gender equality. She has fought not only for the recognition of their human rights, but also for greater participation in decision-making spaces in all areas. She recognizes women’s valuable contribution to peacebuilding, food sovereignty, sustainable development and a peaceful life in harmony with nature. She considers that gender equality should continue to be a cross-cutting issue of the United Nations and that it is necessary to take advantage of women’s contributions to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
